A 65-year-old businessman, Gurkirpal Singh Chawla, allegedly died by suicide on Monday morning after shooting himself with his licensed pistol at his residence. Gurkirpal, who ran a spare parts business, had reportedly been undergoing treatment for a brain-related illness at PGI. The deceased is survived by his wife and two children.
