WELL, that’s definitely the way that Brentford like it after a crushing 3-0 win over West London neighbours Chelsea.
The Bees were thoroughly good value for the victory after really stepping up their performance after the break, following a pretty tame first half for both sides.

They’ve been weak at set pieces, so at least defending them last season, and from a corner, the ball was headed back across, and there was Jaidon Anthony to grab his first goal for the club.

Chelsea then put on a bit of pressure, Cole Palmer looked dangerous for a little while, but he had a very quiet night.
As did Morgan Rogers, and neither of them looked the same without Joao Pedro, even though Danny Welbeck worked really, really hard.
And then it was Jordan Henderson whose every touch was booed on his return to his old club, who gave the ball away, which led to the crucial second goal.
Mikkel Damsgaard set Kevin Schade free, and although Emi Martinez saved that, Igor Thiago followed up to make it 2-0.

The third goal in stoppage time from Fabio Carvalho was just the icing on the cake for Brentford in a wonderful performance, but for Xabi Alonso, it’s back to the drawing board again.
He is only the sixth manager to see his side concede two or more goals in each of his first five games as a Premier League manager.
Alonso joins that list alongside Mick McCarthy, Sammy Lee, Terry Connor, Slavisa Jokanovic, and Scott Parker.
Ultimately, it is two defeats and a draw in his first five Premier League games, which is not what Chelsea appointed him for.
