Amid the talks of unity among the Punjab Congress leaders after yesterday’s meeting at the residence of MLA Rana Gurjeet Singh here, party circles on Jattvibeday were abuzz with the absence of pictures of the meeting on official page of the state unit.Neither AICC state in-charge Bhupesh Baghel shared any picture of the meeting with disgruntled Punjab Congress leaders, led by former Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi, nor Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) uploaded pictures or videos of the get-together on social media handles.Throughout his Punjab visit, official handles of Baghel and the PCC regularly uploaded photos, videos and updates of almost every interaction with party leaders.“However, despite the scale and political significance of the gathering at Rana Gurjeet’s residence, no photo or video has appeared on either of the 10 online platforms of the party,” said a senior party leader on condition of anonymity.Political analysts said silence surrounding this particular meeting has therefore led to questions about whether the omission was merely an oversight or a deliberate communication decision. Interestingly, PCC chief Amrinder Singh Raja Warring had shared pictures of the Mohali meeting of his rivals on party’s social media handles. The meeting at Rana Gurjeet’s residence was held after the high command retained Amrinder Singh Raja Warring as the Punjab unit president and appointed Channi as chairman of the campaign committee. Warring was not part of the meeting, which was held as the party gears up for the 2027 Assembly elections. As many as 92 leaders, including sitting and former MLAs who are opposed to Warring being retained as the president, attended the meeting.Prominent among those present were Channi, Partap Singh Bajwa, Rana Gurjeet, Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa, Sangat Singh Gilzian, Aruna Chaudhary, OP Soni, Pargat Singh, Tript Rajinder Singh Bajwa and Bharat Bhushan Ashu.
