POLICE are investigating an alleged assault in connection with an incident where England cricketer Brydon Carse was arrested.
Carse, 31, was seen in handcuffs in footage which circulated online after an incident at a nightclub in Derby at around 4am on Jattvibeday.

Derbyshire Police said it was investigating allegations of an assault in the city centre, but no arrests have yet been made.
Cops previously revealed the pace bowler was “de-arrested… having agreed to leave the area”.

The force has not said whether he had any role in the alleged assault.
Confirming an investigation had been launched, police said: “We are investigating allegations of an assault in Derby city centre.
“No arrests have yet been made and the investigation is ongoing.”
The independent Cricket Regulator has launched its own separate investigation into the incident.
Current England captain Joe Root declared himself “really hacked off” by the latest drinking drama to engulf his side, telling reporters the team must now work hard to regain public trust.
Carse had been celebrating Durham’s County Championship win over Derbyshire alongside former England captain Ben Stokes and seamer Matthew Potts.
He was dropped from the England squad for their second Test against Pakistan after joining a growing list of players who have been involved in alcohol-related incidents in the past year.
It is understood that he was not on England duty at the time of the incident.
The 31-year-old cricket star is understood to have returned to the team hotel shortly after the incident.
In the video, his Durham and England team-mate Matthew Potts appears to be attempting to speak with Carse during the commotion.
England Test captain Ben Stokes is also spotted briefly towards the back of the shot as the scene unfolds.
Carse had been an unused squad member during England’s victory in the first Test at Headingley, which concluded inside three days.
Following that match, he was released to play for his county, Durham, in their County Championship fixture at Derby.
Division Two leaders Durham secured a dramatic victory late on the third day of the contest.
Carse contributed to the victory, picking up two wickets across the match.
Stokes played a central role in the win, taking five wickets for 17 runs as Derbyshire collapsed to 84 all over in their second innings.
Several members of the squad subsequently went into Derby town centre to celebrate the team’s victory on the evening the alleged incident was filmed.
Injury has sidelined Carse from international action since his standout performance during the recent tour of Australia.
He finished that series as England’s leading wicket-taker after featuring in all five Test matches.
