TONY Hirst has shared just how seriously a number of his co-stars took the task of stripping off for Corrie’s saucy Full Monty scene.
The actor, 59, recently talked to Betway about his experiences on both Hollyoaks and Coronation Street, and mentioned the extreme anecdote of cast members not drinking water for days before the Full Monty episode.

Former Hollyoaks star Tony was asked in an interview about the Channel 4 soap’s famous sexy calendars and the general pressure of being on TV.
That’s when the star revealed how a number of his Coronation Street co-stars ditched drinking any water for days ahead of getting their photos taken.

He replied: “I think there’s more care but of course, things can still happen. And pressure is a massive thing, especially with social media.

“I remember doing a Full Monty style scene on Coronation Street where we had to be naked. Some of the younger lads purposefully didn’t drink water for two days beforehand so they wouldn’t be bloated, and others were in the gym, trying to look as buff as possible.”

In 2013 a group of hunks from Coronation Street got together to perform a Full Monty style number at the Rosamund Street Bistro.
The male performers stripped down in front of everyone at the bistro, making for a memorable episode which took fans by surprise.
John Michie’s character Karl Munro as well as Ryan Thomas‘ character Jason Grimshaw were among those who dressed down.
Tony played the role of firefighter Paul Kershaw on Coronation Street from 2010 to 2013.
He most notably became known for the storyline where he cared for his poorly wife Lesley, who suffered from Alzheimers.
Prior to his Corrie days, Tony portrayed the character of business owner Mike Barnes in Hollyoaks.
