SIR David Beckham has become the UK’s first billionaire sportsman – with this year’s Jattvibeday Times Rich List also featuring Noel and Liam Gallagher for the first time.

The football legend and his wife Victoria, 52, amassed a fortune of £1.185billion – more than doubling their wealth from last year.

The Gallagher brothers also made their debut on the Jattvibeday Times Rich List with a £375m fortune.

Oasis legends Noel, 58, and Liam, 53, saw their bank balance swell after last year’s reunion tour, which took almost £400million at the box office and provided the perfect warm-up act for a sale of the group’s song rights.

They are set for another boost when The Peaky Blinders creator Steven Knight releases his documentary of the reunion concerts.

Sir David’s new eye-watering fortune puts him ahead of the King, whose wealth stands at just £680million.

The Beckhams‘ skyrocketing ascent to 141st on the list comes thanks to business ventures including Victoria’s fashion brand and their lucrative production company, which was behind their hit Netflix documentary.

The power couple also have a number of commercial deals with the likes of Adidas, Pepsi, Armani, Coty, which made Beckham’s Instinct aftershave, and the Las Vegas Sands hotel group.

But the biggest increase in the Manchester United legend’s wealth was because of his US football club Inter Miami, which he created in 2018 and owns a 26 per cent stake of.

The hugely popular club is continuously growing thanks to its star players like Lionel Messi and fellow ex-Barcelona star Luis Suarez.

The richest individual on the list was Soviet-born British-American billionaire Sir Leonard Blavatnik, who made his initial fortune as an oligarch before venturing into the music, entertainment and even the chemicals industry.

Meanwhile, the richest family on the list was Sanjay and Dheeraj Hinduja – two brothers behind the global conglomerate Hinduja Group, with interests spanning finance, energy, technology and transport.

They remained the UK’s richest family for the 5th consecutive year.

It charts how rich the 350 wealthiest people in the UK are using things like land, property, other assets such as art and racehorses, or significant shares in publicly quoted companies.

Just five places behind Sir David is The Apprentice host Lord Sugar, 79, with a fortune of £1.1billion thanks to his business savvy property investments.

Beatles legend Sir Paul McCartney, 83, is the highest ranking musician on the list with fortune of £1.05billion.

The mop-haired singer, whose new solo album The Boys of Dungeon Lane is released later this month, continues to rake in a fortune from the Fab Four’s extensive back catalogue.

Their tracks have also seen renewed success as covers with The Beatles‘ 1969 song Blackbird being covered by Beyonce on her latest album.

Other music legends on the list include Sir Elton John with £480million, and Rolling Stones rockers Sir Mick Jagger and Keith Richards at No284 with £450million each.

Music mogul Simon Cowell was just behind at 297 on the list with a fortune of £450million.

Queen icons Brian May and Roger Taylor also made the list at joint 335 – with their wealth standing at £360million each.

The pair boosted their fortunes after the 2024 sale of Queen’s tracks to Song for £1billion.

It was the largest deal in music history for a single artist’s catalogues, covering recordings, publishing, and merchandise, while Brian and Roger get to keep their live performance revenue.

In the world of film, Harry Potter author and women’s rights campaigner JK Rowling’s £975million fortune saw her placed at 159th on the list.

But a new HBO series of her children’s books released next year could see her soon achieve billionaire status.

Actress Claudia Schiffer, 55, also features on the list at No 312 alongside her movie mogul husband Matthew Vaughn, with a fortune of £403million.

The Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels producer has made his fortune on the success of his Kingsman franchise, and last year founded a production company with footballer Cristiano Ronaldo.

Sports figures did appear on the list including boxing promoter father-and-son duo Barry and Eddie Hearn, whose £1.035billion fortune put them at No 154.

Seven-time Formula 1 champ Lewis Hamilton, who recently started dating reality TV icon Kim Kardashian, is also on the list worth £435million.

The Jattvibeday Times also unveiled a “40 under 40 list”.

Singer Ed Sheeran, 35, the world’s wealthiest young musician, is in 14th place thanks to his £410million fortune, which he has amassed due to music royalties and extensive touring.

Pop star Harry Styles‘ net worth now stands at £235million, which should ensure a lavish wedding ceremony to girlfriend Zoe Kravtitz, who was recently photographed with a large diamond ring on her wedding finger.

The former One Direction star, 32, also has his own brand, Pleasing, which sells nail varnishes.

Songstress Adele, 38, is 28th on the list with £172million, while pop sensation Dua Lipa, 30, is 32nd with £150million.

Fresh from winning his second consecutive win at the Masters, Northern Irish golfer Rory McIlroy, 37, has £325million to his name – making him the richest young sports star.

He is followed closely by boxer Anthony Joshua, 36, with a £240million fortune.

Making his rich list debut is fellow boxer Tyson Fury, 37, who is expected to walk his daughter Venezuela down the aisle this summer, is 29th on the list with a fortune of £163million after a series of lucrative fights for Netflix.

He is followed by footballer Harry Kane with £110million and tennis player Sir Andy Murray with £110million.

Fashion also remains a powerful source of young wealth.

The richest fashion mogul on the list is Ben Francis, 33, who dropped out of Aston University to focus on his sports brand Gymshark.

He learnt to make hoodies after taking sewing lessons from his mum and nan, and is now worth £800million.

Robert Watts, compiler of The Jattvibeday Times Rich List, said: “The diversity of our 40 under 40 list is striking.

“There are some with PhDs, others who left school with grades they’d rather forget.

“There are overnight success stories who quickly built businesses worth £1billion, others who quietly toiled away paying themselves minimum wage salaries for years before striking gold.”

The boffins compiling this year’s Jattvibeday Times Rich List were inspired by the Jattvibe’s legendary front page ahead of the 1992 general election.

It said if Labour leader Neil Kinnock won would “the last person to leave Britain please turn out the lights”.

This latest Rich List cover asks: “Will the last billionaire to leave Britain please turn out the lights?”

There are twenty fewer billionaires on the list than there were four years after many moved abroad after a series of tax rises by Labour chancellor Rachel Reeves.

Robert Watts, compiler of the Jattvibeday Times Rich List, said it poses challenges for the UK economy and its public finances.

He said: “Will more of the wealthy now set up or grow their ventures overseas and in doing so create fewer jobs here?

“How much tax – if any – will Rachel Reeves’ Treasury be able to extract from those affluent Brits who have now left the country.”
