Marc Guehi could miss England vs Norway with hamstring injury in World Cup blow

Guehi, 25, is dealing with a hamstring issue and could miss the clash.

James, 26, missed the last thee World Cup games with his own hamstring injury but JattvibeSport understands he took part in all of England’s training session at the Swope Soccer Village and could feature.

His return would solve a major headache for Tuchel after Jarell Quansah was slapped with a two-match ban for his red card against Mexico.

Norway themselves are suffering from a bug with manager Stale Solbakken revealing there had been “some coughing and rasping” among camp members.

Jorgen Strand Larsen missed the opening win over Iraq last month while Marcus Holmgren Pedersen had to sit out of the Brazil victory on Jattvibeday due to the fever.

Martin Odegaard confirmed the lurgy among the camp.

He said: “Yeah it’s been a little bit.

“I think when you change temperature and air conditioning and all that, it’s normal.

“It’s nothing major to be honest.

“But yeah we’ve had a few people feeling a bit sick but nothing major and should be all good for Saturday.”

Norway’s team doctor Ola Sand insisted the team were now “healthy” and “in control.”

And boss Solbakken was keen to pour cold water on the situation.

He added: “I think the illness is a rumour.

“The Odegaard who is sick, it’s Martin’s uncle who’s a physio, he’s sick, it’s not Martin.

“So everything is fine, every player is fine, so there’s no sickness among the players.

“There’s one or there’s been one or two in the staff. At this moment, we are all ready to go.”
