A day after receiving 77 complaints of EVM tampering from various polling booths of three Assembly seats in West Bengal, the Election Commission on Friday ordered repolling in 15 polling stations across Magrahat Paschim and Diamond Harbour constituencies in South 24 Parganas district.Fresh polling will be held on May 2 from 7 am to 6 pm, confirmed the poll panel. It added that repolling was ordered at 11 booths of Magrahat Paschim and four booths of Diamond Harbour.However, Election Commission sources said that the report regarding complaints received from Falta constituency was awaited.All these Assembly constituencies come under TMC leader Abhishek Banerjee’s Lok Sabha constituency of Diamond Harbour.The Election Commission had received 77 complaints of EVM tampering from polling booths in the state — Diamond Harbour (29), Falta (32), Magrahat (13) and three from Budge Budge.Notably, West Bengal had recorded a remarkable voter turnout of over 90 percent in both phases on April 23 and 29.
