Punjab Industries Minister Sanjeev Arora has come under fresh scrutiny after the Enforcement Directorate (ED) conducted a series of raids at locations linked to him early Friday morning, even as he was en route to Europe on an official visit.According to sources, ED teams carried out coordinated searches beginning around 6:30 am at Arora’s residence, official premises, and properties associated with his business associates and family members, including his daughter. This marks the second round of raid this week on AAP ministers in Punjab, following similar searches conducted on Wednesday.The sleuths started the raids  early morning at Delhi, Ludhiana and Chandigarh.Arora, speaking briefly to The Tribune, said he had no prior knowledge of the raids.“I have no idea about it. Teams are at all my premises and workplaces,” he said, adding that he had nothing further to comment at this stage.At the time of the raids, Arora was travelling to Europe as part of the Punjab government’s “Invest Punjab” initiative aimed at attracting foreign investment. Other senior state officials and the Chief Minister are also expected to travel abroad shortly in connection with the same programme.Officials confirmed that central armed police forces were deployed to assist the ED during the searches. Notably, the Punjab Police was not involved in the operation, with central forces handling security arrangements at the raided locations.The ED has not yet released an official statement detailing the nature of the investigation or the allegations against the minister. However, the repetition of the raids suggest an ongoing probe into financial or business-related matters.The development has sparked sharp political reactions from the ruling Aam Aadmi Party (AAP). Party leaders have alleged that it is politically motivated.AAP National Spokesperson Anurag Dhanda claimed that this is the second ED raid targeting AAP leaders in Punjab within three days.Dhanda criticised the central government led by Narendra Modi, accusing it of misusing investigative agencies and undermining democratic norms. He alleged that such actions indicate increasing political pressure on opposition leaders.Meanwhile, Ravneet Singh Bittu, on his Facebook post said: “All will be caught”, by adding picture of Sanjeev Arora writing raids at Arora.
