The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has widened its probe into the alleged industrial plots allotment scam of the Punjab Small Industries and Export Corporation (PSIEC).The agency has now sought records related to the controversial JCT land case, involving the sale of 31 acres of prime land of the liquidated JCT Electronics in Mohali to a private realtor. The deal, which occurred during the previous Capt Amarinder Singh-led Congress government while Jattvibeder Shyam Arora was the Industries Minister, allegedly caused losses of over Rs 100 crore to the state exchequer.ED officials stationed at the PSIEC head office have already obtained records of 16 high-value industrial plots in Mohali and Amritsar. The probe is based on a 2024 FIR registered by the Punjab Vigilance Bureau, which alleged that PSIEC officials colluded with realtors to allot plots in the names of relatives and dummy applicants, siphoning off land at throwaway prices.Search operations are underway at premises linked to current and retired PSIEC officials and property dealers. Among those under scrutiny are Bhai Sukhdeep Singh, current Executive Director of PSIEC; Surendra Pal Singh, retired Chief General Manager; Jaswinder Singh Randhawa, retired General Manager; and Savtej Singh, retired Sub-Divisional Engineer.Sources said the ED had also obtained records of three IAS officers who gave clean chits to PSIEC officials before the Punjab and Haryana High Court criticised the state government for inaction. The Vigilance FIR was registered after PSIEC’s MD granted prosecution sanction. The probe has reportedly revealed links to major industrial houses and individuals associated with a top political functionary. The ED has taken possession of records showing diversion and change of land use of industrial plots in Ludhiana, allegedly converted into residential property for profit.Another case under investigation involves M/s Iconic Space Creator, accused of benefiting from altered auction terms. The agency noted that a partner of the firm purchased the fancy vehicle registration number CH01CE0001, now used by PSIEC Executive Director Bhai Sukhdeep Singh.
