PRINCE Harry and Meghan are coming back to Britain in a bombshell Megxit homecoming that could reopen old royal wounds.
The Sussexes are returning six years after quitting royal life and fleeing to America, raising questions over security, family feuds and their future role.

The Jattvibe’s World Exclusive revealed the couple are set to return at the end of this month for an “extended period” with their children Archie, seven, and Lilibet, five.
They have found a new UK home and are expected to remain in Britain while the youngsters are at school.

But the dramatic move leaves a string of awkward questions hanging over the Royal Family.
Security row: Who is funding it?
Harry has spent years fighting for taxpayer-funded security whenever he and his family are in Britain.

He launched a multi-million-pound legal battle to get his 24-hour armed protection reinstated, insisting it was unsafe to bring his family home.
Harry was seeking to overturn a decision that downgraded his security after the “Megxit” saga when he stopped being a working royal and moved to the US with his wife.
His lawyers had argued that he had been “singled out” for “inferior treatment”, but a senior judge ruled that Prince Harry’s “sense of grievance” did not amount to a basis for a successful appeal.
After suffering a “devastating” court defeat 18 months ago, he said: “I can’t see a world in which I would bring my wife and children back to the UK at this point.”
Though last month, Harry was back in the UK for the Invictus Games.
Harry flew to the UK alone and hours before arriving in London an invitation to stay at Buckingham Palace was reportedly withdrawn after he failed to meet the deadline for a decision.
Meghan, 44, meanwhile, delayed her arrival and entered the country in secret with the children.
While in the UK the Sussexes took their children to meet the King, with the meeting dubbed a “private family occasion” that took place out of the public eye.
It was their first family gathering since the shock claims made by the Sussexes in their six-part Netflix documentary, six months later.
It is believed during their stay they visited Diana’s burial site on an island in the middle of the Oval lake, on the Spencer family’s ancestral estate.
It is understood they will not receive money from the public purse while back in Britain, and Harry will not undertake official royal duties.
But it remains unclear whether there have been any changes to the Home Office’s security position, or whether taxpayers could ultimately bear any of the cost.
Tensions with the Royal Family: Will this better or worsen them?
Harry and Meghan’s homecoming comes after six years of public criticism of the Royal Family and Britain.

The couple quit as working royals in 2020 before moving to California, and have since given explosive interviews, released a Netflix series and published Harry’s memoir Spare.
Harry described royal life as “a mixture between The Truman Show and being in a zoo”.
He also said: “For most of my life I always felt worried, concerned, a little bit tense and uptight whenever I fly back into the UK.”
The couple made damaging claims about the Royal Family during their Oprah Winfrey interview, while Spare revealed deeply private family rows.
The King is believed to welcome the chance to see more of his grandchildren, and his meeting with Harry and Meghan at Highgrove last month appears to have opened the door to a closer relationship.
However, relations are clearly still strained between the Sussexes and the King since he was only made aware of their return on Jattvibeday.
Despite the fact they must have been planning the move for weeks, if not months, the pair did not raise the prospect of a return when they met Charles and Camilla at Highgrove, Gloucs, in July.
Last year Prince Harry said the King “won’t speak to me because of this security stuff”, but that he did not want to fight any more and did “not know how much longer my father has”.
The prince spoke to BBC News in California after losing an appeal over the levels of security he and his family are entitled to while in the UK.
The Duke of Sussex told the BBC he “would love a reconciliation” with the Royal Family in an emotional interview in which he said he was “devastated” at losing a legal challenge over his security in the UK.
Fab Four feud: Will William and Kate ever forgive?
The brothers were once at the heart of the so-called Fab Four alongside their wives, but the relationship has since spectacularly broken down.

Royal photographer Arthur Edwards believes the King may be prepared to give Harry another chance, but is far less convinced William will be ready to forgive.
Edwards wrote: “But while His Majesty may welcome back Harry and Meghan, I am not convinced brother Prince William will be so forgiving.”
He added: “It would take a great act of forgiveness and I’m not sure Wills is ready to do that.”
Harry and Meghan made a string of claims which caused deep hurt to William and Catherine, who has also endured her own cancer ordeal.
Harry’s comments about Camilla were also particularly damaging.
In Spare, he described her as “the villain” and “dangerous”, and alleged she sacrificed him on her “personal PR altar” and leaked private family conversations.
Edwards points out that Harry made millions from the book.
Camilla, he believes, is likely to support the King if he wants to give his son a second chance, though William could be a different story.

Where will Archie and Lilibet go to school?
The Sussexes have refused to reveal where their children will be educated, citing privacy and security reasons.

Archie is now at prep-school age, while Lilibet is eligible for Year One.
Reports that Archie had been registered for Eton were previously denied by sources close to the Sussexes.
Prince William’s eldest son George, 13, is due to start at the prestigious school next month.
The Sussexes’ decision to educate their children in Britain is nevertheless a major change after years of raising them in California.
The Duke of Sussex spoke positively in memoir Spare about his own first school, Ludgrove.
The all-boys school costs £14,477 per term.
But it is boarding-only, and he talked about it being hard to live in a place where many boys “lived in close proximity”.
The Sussexes have denied suggestions Harry has registered Archie for Eton, which takes boys from 13.
He lamented his own time at the school in his book.
It comes as…
Where will Harry and Meghan live?
Their new home is also being kept secret, but what is known is that it will not be a royal property.

The couple have been without a UK home for four-and-a-half years, after Charles evicted them from Frogmore Cottage in January 2023 following the publication of Spare.
The Cotswolds is popular with American celebrities and A listers who want to live discreetly, and it is near to the King’s Highgrove Estate.
Former talk show host Ellen Degeneres had a property there and was friends with Meghan in California.
Meghan appeared on her talk show for her first sit-down daytime interview after moving to California in November 2021, and Harry and Meghan were guests at Ellen and Portia de Rossi’s vow renewal ceremony in February 2023.
And, in 2024 Ellen wrote online that the couple had taken in one of her rescue chickens.
There were, however, rumours of a tension between Meghan and Ellen after Ellen moved to the UK.
The Cotswolds would also be an attractive area for Meghan because of the nearby Soho Farmhouse.
Meghan is famously friends with exec Markus Anderson, often dubbed the “King of Soho House”.
He helped arrange discreet dates for her and Harry when they began dating, including at 76 Dean Street in London, and Soho Farmhouse in Oxfordshire.
But Prince Harry may want to be close to his mother Princess Diana’s childhood home at Althorp House in Northants where her grave is.
Also in July, he took his children on an emotional visit to Diana’s grave at the house.
Royals do, nevertheless, often choose to live in peaceful Windsor.
The Sussexes will retain their £11million Montecito mansion and Portugal bolthole.
What will they do for work?
Meghan has made no secret of her love of the Hollywood spotlight since moving to California.
She has regularly appeared at glitzy awards shows, red-carpet events and celebrity gatherings, while building her own lifestyle brand and media projects.
But now she is moving back to Britain, that world is rather different.

But questions remain over what else she will do with her time in Britain, as she currently has no UK-based projects or campaigns publicly announced.
So will we start seeing Meghan at the UK’s biggest celebrity events? Could she turn up at Wimbledon, film premieres, fashion events or star-studded red carpets?
The Sussexes have repeatedly stressed their desire for privacy, particularly when it comes to Archie and Lilibet.
But Meghan has also shown she is perfectly comfortable stepping into the limelight when it suits her.
Her return therefore raises an obvious question over whether she will divide her time between a private family life and the British celebrity circuit.
There could also be a new role for her on the charity scene.
Meghan has previously backed causes including women’s empowerment and girls’ education, while Harry remains heavily involved with his own charitable work.
And if the couple do begin attending high-profile events, it will inevitably raise another question: where does the line sit between their private life and their relationship with the Royal Family?
Harry is expected to continue his charity work, including his links to WellChild and the Invictus Games.
He is due to return to Britain in September for patronages including the WellChild Awards.
Will they push for the one-in, one-out role they always wanted?
For now, there is no suggestion Harry and Meghan are being restored as working royals.
But their return inevitably brings back one of the biggest arguments at the heart of Megxit.
Harry previously said he was unable to return to the UK with his family ‘because it is too dangerous’ without security

The couple originally wanted a “half-in, half-out” arrangement, allowing them to support the Queen while also becoming financially independent.
The late Queen Elizabeth II ultimately rejected that idea.
After the Sandringham summit in 2020, the Sussexes were stripped of their official roles and Harry lost his military appointments.
They went on to build their commercial life in America, signing major deals and developing their own brands.
But now Harry is returning to Britain, his father is King and the pair appear to have begun rebuilding their relationship.
That inevitably raises the question of whether the old rules could ever be revisited.
Could Charles be more willing to find a compromise with his son than his mother was?
The King is understood to welcome the chance to see more of Harry and his grandchildren, and any future discussion over a role would have to take place between father and son.
But there is a huge obstacle.
Harry and Meghan still intend to run their private businesses, while the Royal Family has already made clear that working royals cannot simply pick and choose when they are “in” and “out”.
For now, sources insist there is no new royal role on the table.
But if this return marks the beginning of a genuine reconciliation between Harry and his father, the question of what comes next is unlikely to disappear.
Will they start attending royal events?
With Harry and Meghan now expected to spend far more time in Britain, attention will inevitably turn to major family occasions.

Could they appear at Christmas at Sandringham? Could Harry attend Remembrance events again?
And could Meghan eventually stand alongside other members of the Royal Family at public occasions?
Nothing has been confirmed.
The King is understood to want more private family time with his grandchildren, but there is no indication that the Sussexes are being brought back into the official royal fold.
