DANNY WELBECK has broken his silence after being left out of the England squad by Thomas Tuchel.
Despite scoring 13 Premier League goals in 2025/26 the 35-year-old didn’t make the cut and in the meantime he’s been training hard.

The Brighton striker, who doesn’t seem fazed by the snub, posted a series of training photos on X, adding the caption “the work don’t stop”.
After extending his contract with Brighton to summer 2027, the Englishman is eyeing another productive league season with the Seagulls, who qualified for the Europa League with a sixth-place finish in 2025/26.
There were whispers that the ex-Man United and Arsenal man might get an England call-up this summer, with some fans still believing he should be at the Three Lions camp in Kansas City.
One commented: “Should be there but what’s the point if they won’t let you play like the last tournament.”

Thomas Tuchel hit by fresh injury blow ahead of World Cup knockout clash
Welbeck was last on the England scene at the 2018 World Cup, but was only given eleven minutes of game time across the whole tournament.
His sole appearance came against Belgium in the final group game, as he replaced Trent Alexander-Arnold in the closing stages.
With captain Harry Kane and Ollie Watkins, who scored 16 Prem goals, both ahead of him, Welbeck would likely get limited game time again at this tournament.
Fancied Ballon d’Or candidate Kane has scored three goals for the Three Lions so far, after a double against Croatia and a header vs Panama.
