But he will no doubt be delighted to be named the fourth sexiest manager at the tournament.
Out of the 48 bosses preparing to lead their teams in USA, Mexico and Canada, Tuchel only just missed out on a podium spot.
However, the England head coach was pipped by another former Chelsea boss in the shape of Graham Potter, who booked Sweden’s place through the play-offs.
In a study by Live Football Tickets, they took into consideration factors such as the ‘golden ratio’ – aka mathematical facial symmetry – plus height, age and managerial success to create their ‘final attractiveness scores’ out of ten.

Tuchel’s facial symmetry may be lower than other rival bosses, despite a “sharp jawline”, but his height – 6ft 3ins – and 75 per cent win ratio earned him a score of 8.43.
That was narrowly beaten by his Stamford Bridge successor Potter on 8.51.
Australia manager Tony Popovic – the tallest gaffer at the World Cup at 6ft 4ins – came in second on 8.99.
However, the winning score of 9.30 was for Algeria’s “heart-throb” 62-year-old boss Vladimir Petkovic – who boasts a 62.25 per cent golden ratio, is 6ft 2ins tall and has a 74 per cent win rate.

Tuchel pipped Emerse Fae (Ivory Coast, 8.37), Julen Lopetegui (Qatar, 8.32) and even Julian Nagelsmann (Germany, 8.29).
The rest of the top ten was completed by Ronald Koeman (Holland, 8.24), Murat Yakin (Switzerland, 8.23) and Thomas Christiansen (Panama, 7.89).
It is bad news for one former Manchester United boss, though, as Austria chief Ralf Rangnick ranked 34th on 6.53.
Meanwhile, other former Chelsea gaffers Carlo Ancelotti (Brazil, 6.95, 27th) and Mauricio Pochettino (USA, 6.67, 30th) sandwiched Didier Deschamps (France, 6.82, 28th) and Steve Clarke (Scotland, 6.68, 29th).

Ex-Leeds duo Marcelo Bielsa (Uruguay, 5.04) and Jesse Marsch (Canada, 4.94) were 44th and 45th respectively – with Dick Advocaat, who returned to his Curacao job, in 39th on 5.92.
But spare a thought for poor New Zealand manager Darren Bazeley who may well have a chip on his shoulder and a point to prove at the World Cup after ranking last in 48th with a score of just 4.31.
