Gurugram police have arrested a web designer accused of creating a fake Zomato website to sell tickets for Punjabi singer Diljit Dosanjh’s concert. According to the police, the accused designed the fake website for just Rs 5,000. Two other suspects had already been arrested in the case earlier.According to the police, Zomato filed a complaint with the Cyber Police Station (South) on September 17, 2024, alleging that fraudsters had created a fake website and an Instagram page resembling Zomato’s platforms and were illegally selling tickets for Diljit Dosanjh’s concert.Zomato was the official ticketing partner for the event.The fraud allegedly caused financial losses to both the company and concert fans.Following the complaint, an FIR was registered and police arrested two accused, identified as Nitin and Vishnu.During further investigation, police arrested the third accused on Monday. He was identified as Priyanshu Kushwah (22), a resident of Udham Singh Nagar, Uttarakhand.Police said the accused completed his BCA from Ghaziabad in 2024 and was currently working as a freelance website designer in Dehradun.“During interrogation, the accused confessed that he had created the fake website at the behest of his friend Nitin, for which he received only Rs 5,000. We are further questioning the accused,” said a Gurugram police spokesperson.
