A GRIEVING family were left horrified after discovering a strangers ashes hidden inside an urn they had lovingly ordered for their late grandmother.
Ashleigh Wegner’s cherished Nanny, Dorthy Kupsis, had passed away at the age of 98 when her heartbroken family turned to Amazon to find the perfect final resting place.

But in a strange twist, during their already devastating preparations, the family, from Arizona, were confronted with a deeply unsettling and eerie discovery.
Ashleigh had ordered a small, heart-shaped brass urn – a sentimental keepsake meant to honour her late grandmother – which arrived swiftly within just a couple of days.
At first glance, the urn appeared deceptively pristine, giving no hint of the disturbing ashes lurking inside.
She said: “When I opened it, it was just a little dusty.
“I unscrewed the back and that’s when I noticed it still had remains inside of it.
“And that was l like, I have – who are you?”
“I was shocked, I was kind of grossed out. I was uncomfortable.”
Despite its seemingly brand-new appearance, the urn was tainted by the presence of mysterious remains that did not belong to her beloved grandmother.

In an even more bizarre twist, this was not the first time Ashleigh had encountered such a macabre situation.
She and her husband had previously stumbled upon human remains abandoned in an alleyway near their home.
After tracking down the family of the deceased, Ashleigh claimed they shockingly did not want the ashes back.
The couple scattered those remains across the Arizona mountains – and now plan to do the very same with the newly discovered ashes.
Determined to prevent another unsuspecting family from enduring the same nightmare, Ashleigh took action.
The granddaughter added that she reached out to Amazon and was told she would receive a refund.
She also said she reached out to the third-party seller but did not receive a response.
“I didn’t want it to end up on the warehouse shelf again and have somebody else make a purchase and have it accidentally get shipped to someone else in a moment like this,” Ashleigh said.
Amid the chaos and distress, Ashleigh found another urn to finally lay her grandmother to rest in peace.
