FANS on social media seem convinced that Liverpool legend Mohamed Salah will change his mind on leaving the club after the sacking of Arne Slot.

Salah publicly criticised the Dutchman on several occasions during the season and fans think there could be a way back for the Egyptian.

It was back in December that the fan-favourite sensationally hit out at his manager for the first time – he accused the club of throwing him under the bus and said his relationship with Slot was broken.

Over the course of the feud Slot has felt forced to respond to Salah’s consistent criticism and aimed a swipe at the winger a few weeks ago.

But more recently, after announcing that he will leave Liverpool this summer, Salah fired a parting shot at Slot criticising his style of football.

He urged a “crumbling” Liverpool to return to the heavy-metal way of Jurgen Klopp, after their 4-2 loss to Aston Villa.

After a season of back and forth between player and manager, fans are now suggesting that the Egyptian might make a u-turn on his decision to leave the club now that the Dutchman has gone.

One fan wrote: “I can feel a Mo Salah comeback following Slot sacking.”

Another fan comically posted Jordan Belfort’s iconic “I’m not leaving” scene from the Wolf of Wall Street with the caption: “Mo Salah right now after seeing Slot has been sacked.”

A third fan said: “Mo Salah back, now that Arne Slot has been show the door??”

Another wrote: “Mo Salah about to extend his contract, he won’t leave anymore.”

While a fifth said: “SOMEONE PHONE UP MO SALAH NOW.”

Salah recorded the worst Premier League goals tally of his Liverpool career in 2025-26, scoring just seven times in a disappointing campaign for the three-time PFA Player of the Year.

His poor return might have played a part in his public outbursts, and several former players condemned the 33-year-old’s behaviour.

Legendary Manchester United midfielder Paul Scholes said Sir Alex Ferguson would have drop-kicked Salah if he were the manager.

Scholes’ former team-mate Gary Neville also said he would have been fuming if a Man United player had done what Salah did.

Slot’s departure could also open the door for players such as Andy Robertson and Ibrahima Konate, who are both rumoured to be leaving the club.

It was reported that Robertson has an agreement to join Tottenham Hotspur this summer.

Following the sacking, Liverpool’s ownership group released a classy statement paying tribute to their title-winning manager and insisted that his legacy will stay intact.

Andoni Iraola is the bookies’ hot favourite to take over at odds of 1-2 but Paris Saint Germain manager Luis Enrique has also been mentioned.
