KIDS FOR A QUID: Up to four children can travel by train for £1 when accompanied by an adult on certain train lines.
The deal is available on selected Southeastern, West Midlands Railway, London Northwestern Railway, and Chiltern Railway routes.

FERRY CHEAP: P&O Ferries has a Kids Go Free promotion on its Cairnryan-Larne route across the Irish Sea for car bookings made by August 31.
Two children can also travel on the Wightlink ferry for free when accompanied by an adult foot passenger on a day return before September 6.
And on Stena Line, kids aged 15 and under go free on motorist economy or flexi fares using code KIDS when booking at stenaline.co.uk.
SUMMER SAVINGS: Until September 1, the Government is cutting VAT on children’s attractions, days out and meals from 20 per cent to five per cent.
Plus, children aged 5-15 in England can travel free on local bus services throughout August.
