Here is how to transform your kitchen area with a few budget changes . . .
SURFACE LEVEL: Ugly worktops can easily be improved with self-adhesive vinyl wrap.
These sticky-back surfaces, which go over the top of your existing worktops, can mimic marble or wooden styles and come with a wipe-clean surface.
You’ll need a sharp pen knife or scissors to cut the vinyl, and take care to measure carefully to see how much you need.

STORAGE TIP: If you’re pushed for storage space, make sure you use up any room above high cupboards with a couple of pretty storage boxes that slot into the area.
You can also add wall storage and organisers. Try a rail to hang pots and pans or a colourful spice rack to free up space elsewhere.
You can make cupboards and drawers work harder with internal organisers. A shelf insert can double the amount of items one cupboard can hold.
TILE CHANGE: Tiles can quickly date a kitchen, but the good news is that you can replace them on a budget with self-adhesive versions.

You can also refresh grouting easily with a reviver pen, around £5 from Amazon.
SMALL TOUCHES: The kitchen is often overlooked when it comes to decorative touches such as art and plants. Try adding something that does not mind humidity, such as a snake plant or peace lily.
