Brown started every match for the national team in the United States but did not step up to take a spot kick in the shootout following the 1-1 draw.
Kai Havertz, Nick Woltemade and Jonathan Tah all missed from the spot as Germany crashed out of the tournament.
But left-back Brown has put the setback behind him and is now on the verge of joining Bayern.
German outlet Bild reports that he arrived at Barmherzige Bruder Clinic in the Nymphenburg district on Thursday morning for his medical ahead of the “dream” transfer.
