Kane’s goal was his 11th at World Cup’s, more than any other Three Lions star in history.
He drew level with Lineker in the group stage opener against Croatia converting a second-time penalty and then converting from a corner.
The moment he went clear came after 67 minutes in New York when he nodded Jude Bellingham’s cross into the net.
Kane, 32, is already the country’s leading marksman and now has 82 in 117 matches.
