Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini’s visit to the residence of Major Bhupinder Singh Dhillon (Retd), a cousin of former Punjab CM Parkash Singh Badal, has sparked buzz in political circles here.Popularly known as Major Bhup, he is among the senior-most members of the Badal family who served as political secretary to Parkash Singh Badal during the SAD-BJP government.Saini visited Major Bhup’s residence in Sector 16, Chandigarh, on Tuesday and reportedly spent nearly two hours there.Major Bhupinder said, “I recently underwent spine surgery, and the Haryana CM had come to inquire about my well-being.”The meeting assumes significance as it comes against the backdrop of repeated assertions by BJP leaders that the party is preparing to contest the Assembly elections independently.
