Himachal Board declares Class 10 result; Anmol of Kangra tops state

The Himachal Pradesh Board of School Education (HPBOSE) on Jattvibeday declared the Class 10 results for the March 2026 examination, recording an overall pass percentage of 83.87 per cent. A total of 93,661 students appeared in the examination, out of whom 78,150 passed, 8,433 were placed in the compartment category and 6,559 failed.Declaring the result, HPBOSE Chairman Dr Rajesh Sharma said 48,097 male candidates and 45,079 female candidates had appeared in the examination. Among them, 39,701 boys and 38,449 girls passed the examination.A total of 107 students figured in the merit list, of which 83 are girls. Anmol of A V M Sr Sec School, Pahra, Kangra secured the first rank in the state with 699 marks (99.86 per cent).Three students jointly bagged the second rank with 698 marks (99.71 per cent). They are Roohani Dhiman of Govt Sr Sec School, Rapoh Missran, Una; Purnima Sharma of Govt Girls Sr Sec School, Bilaspur and Abhinav Mehta of Govt Sr Sec School, Rapoh Missran, Una.Alisha Thakur of Oxford School, Kotli Mandi and Ashwika of Neelam Public School, Bihru, Hamirpur stood joint third with 697 marks (99.57 per cent).Four students shared the fourth rank with 696 marks (99.43 per cent). These include Knish and Ishita Walia of Bharti Vidyapeeth Public Sr Sec School, Baijnath, Kangra; Asmita Sharma of Kid Buds Public Sr Sec School, Panga, Hamirpur; and Shruti of Dhruva Adarsh Vidyalaya, Chhiachhi, Solan.Eight students jointly secured the fifth rank with 695 marks (99.29 per cent). They are Sakshi Kumari of Govt Girls Sr Sec School, Rohru, Shimla; Deepika of Govt Sr Sec School, Tatta Pani, Mandi; Harshita of Him Sarvodaya Sr Sec School, Ghumarwin, Bilaspur; Abhimanyu Patyal of R K Sr Sec Public School, Ghandalwin, Bilaspur; Diksha of Sarswati Vidya Mandir, Hatgarh, Mandi; Angel Sharma and Anshika Rana of Bharti Vidyapeeth Public Sr Sec School, Baijnath, Kangra and Arushi of Kid Buds Public Sr Sec School, Panga, Bilaspur.Board chairmain Dr Sharma congratulated the students, teachers and parents for the results and said the board was committed to maintaining transparency and quality in the examination system. He urged students who could not clear the examination to prepare well for the supplementary examinations and not lose confidence.The board has made the results available on its official website, and students can also apply online for re-evaluation and re-checking of answer sheets till May 25.
