A heartbreaking scene unfolded in Odisha’s Keonjhar district on Monday, that left an entire village shaken, questioning basic humanity. In Mallipasi village, 42-year-old tribal man Jeetu Munda walked nearly three kilometres under the scorching sun, carrying the skeletal remains of his sister on his shoulder, hoping it would help him withdraw about Rs 19,300 from her bank account.Jeetu’s sister, Kakra Munda, had already endured deep personal loss, having lost her husband and only son before she died two months ago. She was all Jeetu had left. After performing her last rites, he tried repeatedly to access the small savings she had left behind. But each visit to the bank ended in rejection.Bank officials had asked him to either bring the account holder in person or produce legal heir documents. For Jeetu, the message was literal. In a desperate act born out of grief and helplessness, he exhumed his sister’s remains, wrapped them in cloth, and carried them to the Odisha Grameen Bank branch—believing her physical presence was the only way he would be heard.Shocked by the video, one netizen on X commented, “This is he@rtbreaking and ins@ne 😭 Bank forced a man to dig up his dead sister just to prove she died. Zero humanity in the system.”Another user wrote, “This is wild. Dude had to dig up his sister’s skeleton and carry it to the bank just to withdraw ₹20k because staff wouldn’t listen. Indian bureaucracy hitting new levels of clownery.😩”A third comment read, “Humanity got buried long before that grave was opened.”A man in Odisha dug up his deceased sister’s grave and brought her skeleton to the bank Just to prove she had died.He had been trying to withdraw ₹20,000 from her account, but bank officials kept insisting he bring the account holder in person.
