And Maguire admitted he was told of his omission in an awkward FaceTime call with Three Lions chief Thomas Tuchel.
But the Old Trafford fan favourite has remained humble despite his World Cup dreams being brutally ended.
Maguire has been spotted giving out Panini stickers to kids while in New York.
The former United skipper left adoring youngsters stunned when he posed for photos and offered to help them complete their collection.

Maguire also answered questions from fans when he headed onto the stage at Long Acre, a Red Devils fan bar, near Times Square.
The 66-cap star jetted out to New York after agreeing to become a special guest on Gary Lineker’s The Rest is Football podcast on Netflix.
And he has been running the rule over England and their rivals for glory since the World Cup got underway.
But Maguire was left in an awkward situation when Lineker praised Thomas Tuchel’s decision-making during the win over Croatia.
