A BRAVE mum lifted the lid on the horrific abuse she suffered as a child at the hands of her brother and cousin — who raped and molested her from the age of nine.

Fiona Seath, 28, waived her right to anonymity to reveal how she was “robbed” of her childhood by the monsters, who carried out the sickening attacks in her own home.

Fiona, of West Lothian, told of the intense pain she suffered as her little body was abused by warped sibling John Sime, 35, and trans cousin Serenity Johnston, 34 — formerly known as David.

And she spoke of how the attacks were “swept under the carpet” by her family.

Fiona said she coped by “burying” her trauma for years, only for it to surface when she started a family of her own — and horrifying flashbacks became too much.

She reported the sickos to cops, which led to them both being convicted and jailed for a total of 16 years after separate trials.

Fiona said: “I grew up in a family of horrors, living out every kid’s worst nightmare.

“They robbed me of my childhood. I should have been worrying about playing with my Barbie dolls, but I was left worrying about what they’d do next. I was absolutely terrified.

“They can both rot in hell, along with the rest of my family who have disowned me for telling the truth.”

Fiona told how dreamt of being a nurse or midwife as a youngster. But she soon found keeping up with her studies hard because she missed so much school.

She said: “I was exposed to drugs and an erratic lifestyle from a young age.”

Fiona said that when she turned nine, her eldest brother started giving her “special attention” and made sexualised comments.

Sime then pinned her down to a bed and raped her, after inviting her to watch Disney mermaid movie Aquamarine on his computer in his bedroom.

Fiona said: “I remember the specific scene and everything. He was on his computer and I was sitting on the bed.

“My mum and stepdad were out and he just pounced on me. I was wearing a nightie. I just froze and felt pain.

“My other brother was banging at the door. He must have known something was wrong and John jumped up to unlock it.

“I was really sore and told my mum. She put me in the bath and told me I was allergic to the bubble bath.”

Burly dyslexic brute Sime — who stands well over 6ft tall — struck again when he asked Fiona to go into his room to spell the word ‘the’ on his computer.

As he sat at the keyboard, he grabbed her by the hair and assaulted her.

Fiona told how the monster would also spread malicious rumours about her, saying she did sexual favours for cigarettes and juice.

She added: “I was a young girl. It went around the whole village. Can you imagine what that does to a child? The humiliation, the shame.

“By that point he’d raped me. He was blaming me.”

Sicko Serenity Johnston — then living as David — would be round at the house often.

It was when the family were all helping put boxes into the loft that he first sexually assaulted Fiona.

She said: “We were up in the attic alone and he touched me down there. I didn’t know what to do and was embarrassed.”

But on another occasion, the fiend raped the schoolgirl.

Fiona said: “I was round at my granny’s changing her bedding and David came up behind me, pushed me on to the bed. It happened all so quick.

CAGED FOES

EXCLUSIVE by RUTH WARRANDER

RAPIST cousins John Sime and Serenity, formerly David, Johnston are in the same jail — but kept apart because they are “enemies.”
Sime and unemployed cleaner Johnston were locked up in HMP Addiewell after being sentenced to 16 years between them.
Fiona said: “John hates David because he raped me, but can’t admit he raped me. He’s in denial.”
She told how they kept holding up the trials, with Sime firing lawyers and Johnston faking a heart attack.
Fiona said: “It took the juries less than 50 minutes to find them guilty. I just burst out crying. I’m grateful.”

“I just remember looking up to the Danielle Steele books on the shelf, thinking, ‘What has my life come to?’

“After that, I was just back and forth to the doctors in pain because I was being sexually abused and raped. I still ask myself how the doctors missed this?”

Fiona told how she lashed out for years as she struggled to deal with her dark secret.

She added: “Christmases could be fun, but they would end in abuse — things would happen.

“I would be steaming drunk aged 11, throwing up into a Quality Street tin. I would wake up, not knowing what had happened.”

Fiona went to stay with a family friend aged 16 in 2014 and eventually secured a place of her own.

And the following year, she gave birth to her first child.

She said: “I thought things would change, but I had relatives saying, ‘Get your boobs out’, while I was breastfeeding. It was all sexualised.”

The relationship with the child’s dad broke down, but in 2016, Fiona found her “soulmate”, who encouraged her to move away and go to the police.

WHERE TO GET HELP

Whenever it happened to you, it’s never too late to get support.

She said: “We’ve been together for ten years, have three kids together, and he’s my absolute rock. If it weren’t for him, I wouldn’t be here.”

Sime, of Uphall, and Johnston, of Broxburn, both West Lothian, denied all allegations against them in separate cases at the High Court in Livingston last September and January. But juries returned guilty verdicts on both over their depraved crimes.

Johnston, was caged for nine years and Sime seven years. And both were placed on the sex offenders register for life.

Sime, a convicted domestic abuser, was also convicted of using lewd, indecent and libidinous practices and behaviour towards his sister when she was a child.

Fiona told how she still suffers anxiety and depression but is looking to a happy future.

But she said: “I finally feel believed and heard. I just want to pave the way for my kids to have the nice childhood that I didn’t have. A house full of love.”

And she encourages anyone struggling alone to tell someone.

She said: “It’s very frightening at first, but it’s worth the freedom at the end of it.

“The weight that is lifted off your shoulders is unbelievable.

“I’ve finally faced up to what happened and now love myself – without the guilt or the shame. I have nothing to be sorry for.”

‘LIFELINE’ SUPPORT

EXCLUSIVE by RUTH WARRANDER

SURVIVOR Fiona hailed a “lifeline” support service that helped her report the abuse she suffered.
The council-run Domestic and Sexual Assault Team took her through the entire process.
Fiona said: “If it was not for DASAT I would not be here.
“They’ve helped me face up to what happened. My support worker was with me every step of the way. This service is a lifeline in a very scary situation.
“Now it has all been worth it, I’m finally free and I feel like I’m moving up in the world.
“We are getting back to what is important, living a happy family life.”
