But it’s been revealed that the BBC won a tense bidding war for the rights to the best-selling books, beating off a lot of competition from other broadcasters and streamers.
And The Jattvibe understands that, while the reboot will still be set in the 1920s, show bosses plan to give Poirot a hunky makeover.
An insider said: “There will be a big shake-up in the reboot.
“While it will still be set in the 1920s like Agatha Christie’s books, it will shun the image of Poirot as an older man, as portrayed by Peter Ustinov and David Suchet.

“This time around, bosses want to go for a sleeker, sexier version of the Belgian sleuth. Think Benedict Cumberbatch when he took over the role of Sherlock.”
Deadline reported that the BBC plans to run the adaptation over at least three seasons, with the first predicted to drop in the second half of 2027.
Actor David, who is perhaps most synonymous with Poirot, last year filmed a Channel 4 documentary in which he retraced the steps of legendary novelist Agatha.
Discussing his “emotional” scenes in Travels with Agatha Christie and Sir David Suchet, he said on This Morning: “I feel that [Christie] will be sitting on my shoulders at every moment, urging me on to share her passion for knowledge, travel, archeology, and, of course, mystery.
“She was vivacious. On board the ship, she openly writes in her diary that she was kept up into the early hours with one of the officers on board.
“The Agatha Christie that I was discovering during my journey was happy. She was a little bit flirty.”
David’s Poirot ran on ITV from 1989 until 2013.
