Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Jattvibeday highlighted a series of indigenous achievements across the naval, aerospace and missile sectors, calling them milestones that inspire national pride. He said the successes underscore the country’s growing strength in security, innovation and the vision of an Atmanirbhar Bharat.Speaking during the monthly radio programme, ‘Mann ki Baat’, Modi said the country had achieved several milestones that have strengthened both national security and the vision of an Atmanirbhar Bharat.Referring to his recent visit to Kolkata, he highlighted the induction of the indigenously built INS Dunagiri, INS Sanshodhak and INS Agray into the Navy, describing them as examples of India’s growing defence manufacturing capabilities.He also hailed the maiden flight of the Made-in-India C-295 transport aircraft, adding that 40 such aircraft were being manufactured domestically. He said the project was generating employment, strengthening the MSME and aerospace sectors, and reinforcing India’s self-reliance in defence production.He further highlighted the successful test of the indigenous long-range cruise missile developed jointly by DRDO laboratories and Indian industry partners, saying India was becoming increasingly secure “from the seas to the skies”.Moreover, he praised the overwhelming participation in International Yoga Day, noting that yoga events were organised at more than 2,500 locations worldwide. He also congratulated Indian athletes for topping the medal tally at the World Yogasana Championship in Ahmedabad with 114 medals, including 102 gold medals.A significant portion of the address focused on citizen participation during the prevailing war-like situation in West Asia. Modi thanked people for responding positively to his recent appeal to avoid purchasing gold, postpone foreign holidays, adopt carpooling and promote chemical-free farming wherever possible.Calling public participation India’s greatest strength, Modi said such collective action would help the country overcome global challenges.Citing the conservation of the endangered Hargila bird in Assam, the PM praised biologist Purnima Devi Barman and the women-led “Hargila Army” for changing public perceptions through awareness and scientific understanding.Emphasising the need to balance technology with India’s intellectual traditions, Modi lauded Nalanda University’s revival of the ancient practice of “Shaastraarth” as part of its academic culture.With Ganesh Utsav approaching in the coming months, Modi appealed to citizens to purchase only clay idols made by local artisans. He said the move would protect the environment and strengthen the “Vocal for Local” campaign.
