INLD National Youth In-charge Karan Chautala on Monday chaired a meeting of office-bearers and workers of the party’s student wing, the Indian Students Organisation (ISO), at the party headquarters in Chandigarh.The meeting discussed the forthcoming student union elections at Panjab University (PU) and colleges in the city.During the meeting, it was decided that ISO would contest the student elections at PU and DAV College.Vipul Bhadu was declared the party’s candidate for the post of Vice-President at PU, while Abhay Sandhu was announced as the candidate for the post of President at DAV College.Meanwhile, students from various student organisations joined ISO.Welcoming the new entrants, Karan expressed confidence that both ISO candidates would secure victory in their respective elections. He said ISO had strengthened its organisational base in Chandigarh after establishing a strong presence in Haryana, and that its active student leaders had developed significant outreach among university students. He added that a large number of students from other student organisations were continuously joining ISO.Karan further stated that ISO had emerged as an important platform for raising students’ issues and safeguarding their rights. Whenever the organisation had taken up matters concerning students, their concerns had been heard and solutions had been found, he said.
