Smith, who won £100,000, said: “It feels a bit mad to be fair. I’m absolutely made up. Jesus Christ I’m so happy.
“In his semi-final he averaged 103 I think. You are playing Gerwyn Price, he’s one of the best players in the world.

“I take each game as it comes. Every game I play is a final. I give it my all. It’s working for me at the moment.”
It was nip and tuck in the early stages before Smith got himself a two-leg cushion to lead 5-3.
But Price immediately bounced back to level it up at 5-5 before the first break.

Smith, then averaging 107, then delivered a wonderful 123 with bull kill to go back and then another sensational 127 to restore the two-leg lead in a real see-saw slugfest.
Price then missed three at tops and Smith extended his lead to 9-5 and then double four took him to within one leg of glory having reeled off five legs on the bounce.
He then completed the job with double 16 to take his second major title.
Price picked up £60,000 and said: “I was absolute rubbish. I’m not taking anything away from Ross.
“He was brilliant and took his opportunities. He took some big checkouts. I’m very disappointed.
“If I don’t win another major I don’t care. I’m gutted that I’ve lost.
“I’ve got a good family, I’ve invested all my money.”
