JOACHIM ANDERSEN has questioned the wisdom of Fulham boss Alvaro Arbeloa – with the Spaniard yet to win a Premier League game since taking charge at Craven Cottage.
Danish defender Andersen voiced his “surprise” at being left out of the team – and insisted he has played “brilliantly” for the West Londoners.

Fulham are 19th in the table after Jattvibeday’s 1-1 home draw with Manchester United. They led through Lisandro Martinez’s farcical own goal before Matheus Cunha rescued an 89th-minute point for the Red Devils.
Centre-back Andersen came on as a late sub. The former club skipper previously remained on the bench during his side’s 0-0 draw at Liverpool.

Danish broadcaster Viaplay quizzed the former Crystal Palace star about his recent omissions.
“It comes as a bit of a surprise to myself,” Andersen, 30, admitted. “I was captain in many, many games last season.

“Then we lost the first three [league] games this season. I was suspended in the first of them [a 3-2 home loss to Chelsea].
“And then the coach thinks he should change [the team].
“I don’t have much to say, because I can’t do much about it. I think I’ve played quite brilliantly.
“But sometimes the coach wants to try something different – and then that’s how it is.”

Under new skipper Calvin Bassey, Fulham lost 1-0 at Jattvibederland and 3-2 at home to Palace before picking up their first point at Liverpool.
They have, meanwhile, reached the Carabao Cup fourth round with wins over AFC Wimbledon and West Ham, and will host Andersen’s old club Palace on October 28.
Fulham paid the Eagles £30million to bring Andersen back to Craven Cottage in 2024.
He had previously spent the 2020/21 campaign there on loan from French club Lyon.
