JESY Nelson’s mum Janice White has shared a glimpse into her home life with her twins after their SMA diagnosis.
The singer’s daughters Ocean Jade and Story Monroe were born prematurely in May last year and were diagnosed with Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA) Type 1.

The rare, progressive genetic condition severely weakens muscles, causes motor control issues and can affect breathing and swallowing.
She opened up about her pregnancy and birth in her Amazon Prime Video series, ‘Jesy Nelson: Life After Little Mix‘.
The X Factor star is all set to let cameras into her home again with a follow-up on the streaming platform called ‘Jesy Nelson: Life Changing’.
In the new documentary, one scene shows a spare bedroom full of medical equipment for the girls as well as toys they’re unable to play with.

Her mum Janice shows cameras the room as she expresses: “This is actually quite organised but it is all their stuff they can’t use and all their medical stuff, their feeding tubes and stuff, but it upsets Jesy if she sees it downstairs, so we keep it up here.”
She then brings out a brand-new cuddly elephant rocking chair and adds: “It is all things we bought like toys, and nothing was suitable because everything has to be specialised because of their spines.
“‘I said, ‘you should donate them to the hospital and things, they need it’. Hopefully, someone else will get the benefit of them.”
The new documentary focuses on Jesy’s bid to get SMA testing done from birth throughout the UK.
The twins celebrated their first birthday last month as Jesy took to Instagram to share a sneak peek into the celebrations.

She reflected on her first emotional year as a mum by sharing a poem about her feelings.
Narrated by Jesy herself and set to soft piano music, the clip featured a poem about parenting children with disabilities and the difference between the motherhood she expected and the reality she has experienced.
The poem compares raising a child with additional needs to planning a dream trip to Italy, only to unexpectedly land in Holland instead.
Widely shared by parents of disabled children, the emotional piece explains that while life may not turn out how you first imagined, it can still be filled with beauty, love and joy.
It has become a well-known piece of writing within disability and parenting communities for its message about embracing a different path.
Jesy accompanied the video with a heartfelt caption which ended: “Happy Birthday my Ocean and Story you are my whole heart and soul I love you more than you will ever know.”
The twins’ dad is rapper and singer Zion Foster, who began dating Jesy in 2022 and got engaged to her last year.
However, the couple later split following the devastating diagnosis of their daughters’ SMA1 condition, though they have remained close and are continuing to co-parent together.
