Shocked drivers described seeing Sterling’s Lamborghini Urus V8 “weaving across lanes” between rush hour traffic on the busy motorway.
One witness claimed the wheels of the ex-Liverpool star’s £270,000 car leapt 4ft in the air as it crashed into a barrier on a slip road roundabout.
Sterling is suspected of driving a vehicle while unfit through drugs, driving dangerously, possession of a Class C drug, and failing to provide a specimen.
But the winger – currently at Dutch side Feyenoord – seemed in good spirits as he was spotted on Channel 4 star Guy Phoenix‘s Instagram.

The Channel 4 show follows the life of the super-builder who turns properties into luxury homes that sell for up to £25million.
The host laughs as his “good friend” Sterling watches one of his Youtube videos, showing him at last weekend’s Monaco F1 Grand Prix.
But the Premier League winner – seen with fiancé Paige Milan – jokes he is being forced to watch it while eating his food.
Sterling is currently on bail after crashing his Lamborghini close to Junction 4 of the M3 near Minley, Hampshire, on the morning of May 28.
One witness, a van driver who did not want to be named, said: “Just after I got on the M3 westbound I saw a Lamborghini swerving.
“He nearly crashed into the left-hand barrier. He was drifting left into the hard shoulder and almost crashed.
“He didn’t even acknowledge me beeping. I could just make out a young guy with a white vest on.
“When I was going slowly, he nearly went into the back of me.
“He cut in front of me and then veered left into a barrier and hit the front left of his vehicle and the tyres went about 4ft into the air.
“The car spun about 180 degrees. He would have kept going I’m sure if he hadn’t hit his wheels.”
Hampshire Police officers pulled him over on the southbound carriageway at around 9am and arrested him.
The force said: “Just before 9am on Thursday, we received reports that a Lamborghini was in collision with barriers on the M3 southbound.
“No other vehicles were involved and no injuries were reported.
“The driver, a 31-year-old man, from Berkshire, has been arrested on suspicion of driving a vehicle whilst unfit through drugs, driving dangerously, possession of a Class C drug and failing to provide a specimen.
“He has been bailed while our enquiries continue.”
Class C drugs include tranquilisers such as valium, plus steroids, laughing gas and GHB.
Sterling was just 15 when he was signed by Liverpool from the QPR academy in 2010.
He quickly became a fans’ favourite at Anfield before a contract dispute saw him move to Manchester City in 2015.
There he enjoyed massive success — winning four Premier League titles, five Carabao Cups and an FA Cup.
Less successful spells followed at Chelsea and Arsenal, and he moved to Feyenoord as a free agent in February.
Sterling has also won 82 caps for England, scoring 20 goals.
