Two operatives — Anuraj alias Gaurav Masih and Ankush, both residents of Phillaur — were arrested with three pistols and 11 live cartridges.During interrogation, it was revealed that they were operating at the behest of foreign-based handlers: Zorawar Singh (Germany), Sahil Sondhi alias Chunj (Dubai), and Lakha (Germany). They were tasked with executing high-profile targeted killings. Consequently, an FIR was registered under the Arms Act and Section 111 of the BNS.Current success: New arrests and explosives seizedDuring follow-up investigations, police teams traced the explosives wing of the module, leading to the arrest of two key operatives from the Majha region: Karandeep Singh alias Karan, a resident of Khairdin Ke village, Tarn Taran, and Baljeet Singh alias Sanju, a resident of Purani Basti, Amritsar.Karandeep Singh is a professional criminal with prior cases registered against him for attempt to murder, under the Arms Act, and for NDPS smuggling. The two accused were brought into contact with the module by another foreign-based handler, Akashdeep alias Golden (Malaysia), a resident of Khaira village, Tarn Taran. The Ludhiana police has now dismantled both the shooting module and the explosives logistics chain of this foreign-based syndicate. A meticulous forward and backward linkage investigation is underway to identify and eradicate the remaining local contacts of the network.
