A MARRIED At First Sight UK star has claimed that bosses ‘pressured brides to sleep in same beds as grooms’ which in turn fuelled ‘unsafe’ situations.
Megan Wolfe from series 6 of MAFS UK, which aired in 2021, has spoken out about her time on the show following the Panorama programme, The Dark Side of Married at First Sight.

The new BBC programme, which aired on Monday, follows an external review commissioned in April into the welfare of participants on the programme.
In the programme, former bride Shona Manderson accused her TV groom of “taking things too far during sex”, with two previous brides alleging they were raped by their on-screen husbands.
In the aftermath of the programme airing, Megan, who has never publicly spoke about her experience on the show, has opened up for the first time in a revealing social media upload.
In a TikTok video, she explained how she didn’t want to go into her experience too much, but said she “can attest that throughout that experience you are put in situations, in environments that do leave people vulnerable to these situations, to these sometimes life altering events and it isn’t good enough”.
‘CLEAR DISTRESS’
C4 says ‘sorry’ to MAFS UK brides but claims it CAN’T probe ‘rape’ claims
Megan went on to say how many of the stars on the show are “scouted out, they’re sold a dream, they’re tied into the show, signed into NDAs, not paid to contribute to these million pound productions and then left to deal with the aftermath”.
For Megan, she was faced with “months and months of trolling including death threats”.
She then opened up about situations she faced during the filming of the show.
“There were situations in my season when I was filming that I raised with the higher ups.
“I was quite distressed, I raised some concerns and I was simply told that that’s showbusiness, ‘I think you need to read your contract again’.”
She added: “I was someone who was not comfortable sharing a bed with a stranger which is what they are, you meet them for the first time on the wedding day, often you go on to the honeymoon that night and you’re expected to share a bed, and I wasn’t comfortable with that.
“So a whole storyline was filmed around that, that I was making this person sleep on a small sofa and I was reminded quite consistently that if I didn’t share an apartment with this person, if I didn’t share a bed with this person, that I was rejecting them, that I wasn’t giving it a real go and that I wasn’t giving it an opportunity.”
Megan went on: “No one explicitly made me share a bedroom or said them words, it was just made very clear that I probably wasn’t giving it the best go if I didn’t, and luckily I stuck to my boundaries, I stood my ground and I didn’t put myself in uncomfortable situations.
“But I can see how if you are not brave enough to speak up for yourself and implement them boundaries that you could be left in quite a vulnerable, unsafe situation.
“So it is time for change,” she added.
“Mental health is paramount, welfare, wellbeing is at the top of the list.”
She later added: “I stand with everybody that is strong enough to fight the system, to advocate for themselves and I want to make it known that every victim who steps up and is brave enough to share their story should be heard.
“They should be heard and they should be stood with, especially from other contributors from the show.”
Fans rushed to the comments to praise Megan for speaking out, with many quick to say how proud they are of her for doing so.
