Halfords is giving drivers the chance to have their vehicle’s air con system tested, with the hot weather set to continue.
The complimentary check is available at Halfords sites nationwide so that motorists can make sure their car’s air conditioning is working as it should.
Car air conditioners can become less efficient over time and may not cool to their full potential.
Halfords’ expert technicians will test the efficiency of the air conditioning systems by checking the gas and refrigerant levels and identifying any leaks.

This will make sure a vehicle can be optimally cooled in the roasting weather.
They also offer an Air Con Recharge Service from £74.99, if a car needs it after the checks.
If more problems are detected, the car can be booked in for a more thorough check.
Chris Lunn, Halfords’ motoring expert, said: “Air conditioning systems can lose around 10% of their refrigerant each year, reducing cooling performance.
“A quick check can help identify whether your system is working as it should before you’re caught out in traffic on a hot summer’s day,” he added.
“It’s designed to see if the air con system simply needs to be topped up for optimal performance or is potentially in need of a more thorough inspection for leaks at one of our Autocentres.”
