THE World Indoor Bowls Championship has been dropped by the BBC – ending its 47-YEAR coverage of the popular competition.
Since the event was introduced in the 1979, BBC coverage has played a significant role in developing the sport.

The events manager, Gordon Woods, said: “We are actively exploring opportunities to secure a new broadcast partner.”
Followed by a short term fix of implementing a plan to broadcast the events on YouTube, Facebook and a dedicated website for fans to watch who cannot attend live.

Regardless of the loss in BBC coverage, sponsors of the event should leave fans reassured that Indoor Bowls will continue to flourish.
As of now, all matches will be broadcasted for free on YouTube, with the organisers reportedly making large investments into streaming equipment.
