A POPULAR beach front fireworks show has been cancelled due to forecast winds after initially being suspended over wildfire risks.
The lights display was scheduled to set off on Friday night, but has now been suspended over fears of bad weather.

Bournemouth beach was set to host a fireworks show every Friday at 10pm between July 24 and September 3.
However the penultimate show has now been cancelled following initial concerns of wildfire risks.

The local authority said to compensate for the last minute cancellation they would provide a larger show on September 4.
Another display is also set for Poole Quay for September 3.

Councillor Richard Herrett, BCP Council’s portfolio holder for destination, leisure and commercial operations, said: “We have done everything we can, alongside our partners, to ensure today’s display could take place but unfortunately it has not been possible.
“We know this is frustrating for many of our residents, visitors and businesses: it is frustrating for us, too, we know a lot of people were looking forward to their return.”
This comes just weeks after Britain’s biggest summer fireworks show was postponed until next year due to fire risks.
Abingdon International Fireworks Festival said the decision came with “enormous disappointment” but it was not “worth risking people’s homes and livelihoods”.
Welcoming over 10,000 annual visitors, the festival boasts a half-kilometre wide display with an immersive laser and light show that can be seen 30 miles away.
Concerns were raised about the threat of wildfires caused by the fireworks display, with over 1,000 recorded already throughout England and Wales this year.
