It’s now been confirmed customers will get the bonus, making it the fourth year running they’ve received the cash boost.
Four million customers are thought to be eligible for the bonus.
But some Virgin Money customers who became Nationwide members following its takeover earlier this year will have to wait until next year to get their hands on the money.
The Fairer Share scheme rewards customers who bank with Nationwide or meet certain lending criteria.

The payment usually shows up as “Nationwide Fairer Share Payment” on bank statements.
