NON-LEAGUE club Beckenham Town have slammed a “disgraceful” referee after he deemed a pitch playable, despite it being in a shocking state.
The club have vowed to get in touch with the FA, after the ref gave the go ahead on an “absolutely awful” pitch.

The club posted a video of the turf, or lack of, at FA Cup opponents Camberley Town on their X account, while slamming the ref in the process.
They said: “Absolutely disgraceful decision by the referee, I don’t think he’s qualified enough to call this game on.

“The pitch is absolutely awful, you can’t see the goal areas, you can’t see the markings.”
They added that they plan to contact the FA to find out which ref gave the pitch the go-ahead the day before.

Beckenham went on to lose in dramatic fashion on the barren surface, throwing away a 2-1 lead to eventually lose 3-2.
It means their FA Cup dream is over for another season, but they will feel hard-done-by, after being forced to play on the arid pitch.
Fans also had their say on social media, as the clip went viral.
One wrote: “That is genuinely disgusting.”
