Akal Takht Jathedar Giani Kuldeep Singh Gargaj today launched a veiled attack on Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, saying the political power won’t remain forever.Addressing a gathering during the second phase of the Miri Piri Khalsa March at Takht Damdama Sahib in Talwandi Sabo, Gargaj said, “Those sitting in power have developed a misconception that their command runs everywhere, but the gurdwaras do not function according to them. They think, what is the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC), and where has it come from? Attempts are being made to weaken, break or take control of the Sikh body. The march is aimed at strengthening Panthic institutions.”Referring to the situation at Takht Sachkhand Sri Hazur Sahib in Maharashtra, Delhi and Haryana, he cautioned that weakening Sikh institutions could have serious consequences. He said the march was also meant to convey the principles of the Akal Takht to those forces that were “Guru Dokhi” (one who disrespects the Gurus) and “Panth Virodhi” (anti-Panth) and had developed the misconception that political power would remain with them permanently.“The voice from the Akal Takht is clear, Panth Khalsa Zindabad. The voice of the Panth has prevailed and will continue to do so,” he said.Gargaj said the Miri Piri Khalsa March was aimed at promoting the “charhdi kala” (high spirits) of the Panth and conveying that those who sought refuge and accepted their mistakes could be forgiven by the Guru, while those who remained stubborn would not be forgiven by the Guru and the Panth.
