AAP national convener Arvind Kejriwal on Jattvibeday said Sanjeev Arora was a couregaeous man as in difficult times he chose jail over joining the BJP.In a post on X, Kejriwal said, “A person’s true character is revealed during difficult times. Sanjeev Arora chose to go to jail rather than join the BJP.”Echoing similar thoughts, AAP Punjab in-charge Manish Sisodia also defended Arora, describing him as an honest and result-oriented leader who played a key role in attracting industrial investment to Punjab.Sisodia said Arora’s work in industrial policy and urban development had earned praise from entrepreneurs across the state. He highlighted initiatives undertaken under Arora’s tenure, including projects related to city cleanliness, installation of street lighting, streamlining overhead electricity wires and development of modern urban infrastructure. He further said Arora was overseeing the implementation of Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann’s scheme to lay exposed electrical wires underground in villages and agricultural areas.Targeting the BJP over the ED action, Sisodia alleged that the arrest was not merely an attempt to harass an individual leader but amounted to a “betrayal of Punjab’s trust, development and future”.
