All private and government educational institutions, medical educational institutes and anganwadi centres in Solan and Sirmaur districts will remain closed on Friday following a warning of heavy to very heavy rain in the region.The Meteorological Department has issued a red alert, predicting heavy rain, landslides and cloudburst.In view of the incessant rain since Thursday, the Deputy Commissioners of Solan and Sirmaur have declared a holiday in these institutions. However, the staff has been directed to report for duty.The decision was taken as a precautionary measure after reports of landslides and road blockages disrupting normal life in various areas of the two districts. The orders have been issued by the Deputy Commissioners under Section 30 (v) of the Disaster Management Act.
