“It’s been a while since I’ve seen my abs, but 7 months of consistently lifting heavy and actually eating FOOD no more restricting has made such a difference.
“I think so many women write themselves off once they hit menopause, but please don’t.
“We lose muscle quicker, things change, but that doesn’t mean we can’t build it back.
“I’m nowhere near finished yet.”
In a previous TikTok video she also opened up about why she lifts weights at the gym too.
Steph explained: “Because I love food. More muscle = faster metabolism.
“I want to look good in a bikini.
“Supports my hormones because they’ve been doing their own thing for years.
“Protects my bones because I’m not falling apart at 70!!!”
And a few days ago she shared a video of her doing a yoga workout at home.
“Some days we lift. Some days we yoga,” she told her followers.
Steph has played Cindy on/off on Hollyoaks since 1996.
Her first stint was for four years up until 2000, and she later reprised the role in 2004.
She rejoined the cast again in 2008 and was on the soap until she was axed in 2024.
The TV legend was let go as part of a vast number of redundancies as the serial went down to three episodes per week.
Cindy’s highly-anticipated return saw her reunite with screen veterans Ashley Taylor Dawson and Nick Pickard, alongside Hollyoaks newcomers Rebecca Ryan and Matthew Wolfenden.
The major comeback arrives just ahead of a massive milestone for Steph, who marks 30 years on the soap this November.
As one of Chester’s most recognisable residents, Cindy boasts a dramatic history in the village.
As one of the show’s longest-serving stars, fans have watched her in multiple dramatic storyline, including the soap’s first-ever on-screen birth and marrying Tony Hutchinson – twice.
Talking about her Hollyoaks return, Stephanie said: “I would never pass up the chance to walk in Cindy’s heels again. It feels amazing to be back home.”
Previously writing in her book Breaking the Script about her axe, Stephanie said: “Then it happened. ‘And with that said, we will be losing Cindy from the show. I’m so sorry, Steph.’ The world stopped for a second as I replayed those words in my head. Then… I lost my s***.
“‘What? No! You mean you’re not taking me to the 30th?’ I blurted out, referencing the upcoming anniversary of the show – a milestone that meant so much to the long-standing cast.
“‘I don’t understand. No, I don’t understand. I don’t understand!’ I was frantic. ‘But I’ve been so loyal. Please, no. This is my life. I love my job – please, no!’
“Hysterically crying, I repeated myself, hoping one of them would see my distress and take it all back. Had they made a mistake?
“My world felt like it was imploding. Through my tears, I demanded to know, ‘How am I on that list? Cindy is an original! I’m the longest-serving female character. I was the first person to give birth on the show.’”
