This led to national team chiefs deciding that a mid-tournament coaching change was necessary.
A statement posted the morning after the match read: “The agreement to dismiss coach Sabri Lamouchi has been officially signed.
“The move is towards appointing Mondher Kebaier as the national team coach (on an interim basis) to complete the World Cup matches.
“The Tunisian Football Federation will work to secure a visa for Olympic team coach Anis Boujelbane to join the coaching staff.”

According to reporter Romain Molina, however, Lamouchi took training AFTER the statement had been posted.
And Molina adds that Tunisia bosses aren’t content with appointing Kebaier as interim – instead hoping to parachute in Herve Renard as new boss.
Renard, 57, is an icon of international football and has managed several nations at major tournaments.
The Frenchman earned Afcon glory with Zambia and Ivory Coast, while he has also coached Morocco, Saudi Arabia and France‘s women’s team.

Renard is available having been sacked by Saudi Arabia just two months before this summer’s World Cup.
He guided them through qualifying for the tournament, but was axed as national team bosses opted to replace him with Giorgios Donis.
Molina claims that Renard is set to be parachuted into Tunisia’s World Cup campaign, with federation chiefs hoping that he can guide them out of their current mess.
A project beyond the World Cup has also been pitched to the experienced boss.
Tunisia are next set to be in action on Saturday as they take on Japan in Mexico.
They then take on the Netherlands the following Thursday.
