A YOUNG woman has been left with traumatic brain injuries after leaping off a balcony while allegedly trying to escape being gang raped, reports say.
The alleged victim plummeted from the first floor of an apartment while trying to flee the suspects – with police launching an investigation into the ordeal.

Emergency services rushed to the scene of the fall after being alerted that a woman had plunged from a balcony.
The fire department raced to Senftenberger Straße at 3:15am on Tuesday before finding the woman in horrific condition.
She had reportedly been helped back inside her apartment by five unidentified men.
When ambulances arrived, her condition is said to have been so severe that an emergency physician vehicle was called in.

Police also came to the scene and launched a probe shortly after – but no arrests have been made.
After the woman was rushed to hospital, doctors found she had suffered traumatic brain injuries.
She is currently receiving treatment.
Police sources told Bild that a possible sexual offence inside the apartment was being investigated.
Searches have been carried out in the property as part of the investigation.
On Wednesday, forensic inspectors came to the scene to collect samples from the apartment.
But police have not ruled out the possibility that the alleged suspects may have attempted to destroy evidence.
