Arsenal led the Premier League’s rock-bottom side 1-0 at half-time on Monday evening where if they manage to finish victorious, will hold a five point advantage over Guardiola’s troops.
In theory, Arsenal could win the title tomorrow night if they secure the win and City fail to beat Bournemouth on Tuesday.
Given City are still in the title race, Neville was left flabbergasted that the news could break now.
He said: “I’m really surprised that’s broken right now.

“Just because it’s during this match. Because its the night before a Man City game.
“Something like that is game-changer news. Think of being at school and Dalglish leaving Liverpool.
“Such huge moments in football and this would be something similar. I don’t see how it would be news that Man City want out.

“I’m surprised. If it is true, Man City will be extremely disappointed that it’s broken right now. So will Guardiola.”
City still have an outside chance of winning the Premier League, but it is firmly in Arsenal’s hands if they win both of their remaining games.
Of course, Guardiola will not finish his final season in the blue half of Manchester empty handed. City have already won the Carabao Cup and the FA Cup this season to make it 20 major honours during the Spaniard’s decade with the club.
