Punjab Congress president Amrinder Singh Raja Warring on Thursday demanded a thorough probe into the money laundering allegations being probed by the Enforcement Directorate, which raided multiple locations in Punjab.“Reports of the ED raids and the accompanying visuals of cash being flung from the premises of a person very close to the power corridors has exposed those claiming themselves to be staunchly honest,” he said.Leader of the Opposition in the Punjab Assembly Partap Singh Bajwa said the raids on close aides of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann had vindicated the charges he had consistently raised over the past four years regarding large-scale corruption and misuse of power under the AAP government.Bajwa said the shocking visuals emerging from the raids, including bags allegedly filled with cash being thrown out of a multi-storey building, had exposed the “true character” of the AAP government that claims to be a staunchly honest party. He alleged that the AAP leadership had siphoned off more than Rs 30,000 crore from Punjab through various channels and asserted that the scale of loot committed during the present regime was unprecedented in the state’s history.Former Deputy Chief Minister and Gurdapsur MP Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa demanded an impartial investigation by central agencies into the alleged extortion of money from builders by Mann’s OSD Rajbir Ghumman and his close associates. He said only a thorough investigation could uncover those behind this racket.Randhawa said the ED raided the residences of Nitin Goyal and his associates in Mohali and Chandigarh and they all were close associates of Chief Minister’s OSD Rajbir Ghumman.
