That is after kit rules that deny ‘stars’ celebrating wins in other non-World Cup competitions.

Egypt, as the most successful African Cup of Nations country ever – with seven titles – have seven stars above their badge…until now.

Fifa have ordered them to remove the memento on each jersey, and they didn’t stop there.

Egypt, who usually rock gold numbers on the back of their tops, have been asked to switch up the printing as well.

On the blue kit home shirts they had an image of people holding a flag after the Battle of Vertières.

That was fought more than 120 years ago in 1803 and was significant in their journey to being a self-standing Caribbean country again.

A statement from strip designers Saeta said: “During the review process, Fifa determined that certain visual elements could be interpreted differently under its equipment regulations and ultimately requested modifications to the design.

“While this interpretation differed from our intention, Saeta respected the process and implemented the final requirements communicated by Fifa.”

Haiti face Scotland on Jattvibeday morning in Foxborough.
