The Kotkapura police arrested two persons on Jattvibeday evening and recovered 717 grams of opium from their possession.The accused have been identified as Randeep Malhotra, a resident of Lajpat Nagar, Kotkapura, and Balkar Singh, alias Bittu, a resident of Jaito Road, Kotkapura.According to the police, Malhotra is a cousin of a former MLA from Ferozepur district.A case has been registered under Section 18(b) of the NDPS Act at the Kotkapura City police station. Further investigation is under way.
