CHINESE car giant Jaecoo has upgraded its policy terms in a U-turn on its small print.
The change will be rolled out across old and new models with immediate effect, including a number of sister brand motors.

Jaecoo has confirmed its warranty will change in line with its advertised seven-year, 100,000-mile policy after the motor company was accused of misleading motorists.
An investigation, previously conducted by Lawrence Whittaker, chief executive of Warrantywise, revealed that some car parts were only covered for three years, not seven.

Small print declared that fuel pumps, starter motors and air-conditioning compressors were amongst parts excluded from warranty after three years and 40,000 miles, leaving customers at risk of hefty fees.
Now, however, the Daily Mail has revealed that Jaecoo’s parent company, Chery Group, will live up to its advertised warranty for all models.

This includes those sold by its sister brands Chery, Lepas and Omoda, alongside Britain’s third best-selling new car, the Jaecoo 7 SUV.
A number of parts are now covered by the full warranty period, including the catalytic converter, the infotainment unit and the fuel injectors, as well as an improved warranty on suspension components.
Since entering the UK market in January 2025, the Chinese SUV Jaecoo, alongside sister brand Omoda, has surpassed 100,000 vehicle sales.
Jaecoo has established itself during this time, with the 7 SUV model becoming the UK’s most sought-after new car in the first half of 2026.
Available for an affordable price of around £30,000 for both petrol and plug-in hybrid options, Jaecoo has helped Chinese-owned brands to occupy at least 15 per cent of the UK’s new car sales.
